SPAR APPLICATIONS

SUPPLY VESSEL
MOORING SYSTEMS
When weather conditions are too bad to lay alongside a platform, supply boats tie up by the stern under the crane for loading and offloading.
WINCH LINES
High Modulus synthetic ropes have proven reliability while significantly reducing the cost operations in towing, mooring, installation of subsea equipment, and other offshore applications.
LIFTING SLINGS
Southwest Ocean Services, Inc. designs and fabricates heavy lift slings utilizing a wide variety of fibers and rope constructions.
SUPPLY VESSEL
MOORING SYSTEMS
All types of schemes with tires and ropes have been tried to prevent line breakage during rough weather. The problem is that the distance from the platform leg to the boat is too short. The Wishbone system creates a much longer line by utilizing the vertical distance between deck and the lower area of the platform
Wind, current and waves create forces on a moored vessel to surge back and forth. A mooring line must do two things: hold against the forces and stretch to accommodate the surge.
The stretch requirement is often overlooked due to focus on strength only. This system utilizes the strength and elasticity of synthetic fiber ropes to hold a supply boat on station. The elasticity compensates for vessel motion due to waves.
